Fleet Maintenance Technician

Minnesota Power has an immediate opening for an Advanced Apprentice Fleet Technician in Little Falls. This is a great opportunity to utilize your strengths and experience as a mechanic to support the entire operations team at Minnesota Power. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment including ATVs, Light Trucks, Bucket Trucks, Backhoes, Track Vehicles, and more. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and repair equipment to operate safely and within manufacturer's specifications in an efficient and cost effective manner
Compliance with applicable federal, state and MP rules, laws, and regulations
Effective communication required to establish and maintain positive working relationships
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Two (2) years vocational school certificate in automotive repair, diesel repair
OR
At least three (3) years experience in automotive repair, diesel repair, heavy equipment repair, or hydraulic equipment repair
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
A total of 10+ years of work experience in at least 3 of the following areas:
Automotive Repair
Automotive Electrical Repair
Medium and Heavy Duty Vehicle / Diesel Repair
Heavy Equipment Repair
Boom Repair
Small Engine/ATV Repair
Hydraulics Repair
Welding and Fabrication
Must be able to successfully complete four (4) year apprenticeship training which includes knowledge and documented training on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems on all types of company owned vehicles and equipment from small engines to Class 8 vehicles
Proficiency with basic computer systems
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must hold commercial driver's license with current health card and be able to obtain D.O.T. Vehicle Inspector Certification within 90 days of start date
Must provide initial set of tools
Lines of Progression: Fleet Maintenance Tech to Lead Fleet Maintenance Tech

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
